Introduction
Welcome to the POV-Ray for PLATFORM version 3.7 documentation.
This content is divided into three major sections. A platform specific section, a tutorial section, and a reference section. Returning users will notice the shift from a next / previous presentation to one that is more context based. Additionally the section numbering that used to appear in the table of contents, is now only in the content. To aid in this transition, when hovering over a fixed panel entry, the section numbers will appear as a hint. The links at the top of the content pane also provide hints!
In the standalone html version only, while in the table of contents mode, the fixed panel shows the first level section titles in bold and one level below, however the content pane displays a complete listing of each section. If the number of fixed panel menu entries exceeds it's boundaries, a scroll bar is automatically added. The content and menu panes scroll independent of each other, simply hover over either pane (or grab the scroll bar) to shift focus. In the page content mode, the fixed panel listing is complete, and as previously mentioned, section numbering appears in the content headings.
This content is best viewed on a screen that can support a resolution of at least 1024 x 576 pixels, but you could probably get by with something slightly less, however, in that case, the fixed panel menu can intrude into the content. For that reason, it's background is transparent.
If the default font size doesn't suit, most browsers support a zoom feature. Internet Explorer users should select View -> Text from the browser menu and choose a suitable setting, while Firefox users should select View -> Zoom and make sure the Zoom Text Only option is checked first for the best results.
New to POV-Ray? You'd most likely want to begin with the tutorial section. Need to locate something quickly? Either the quick reference or the list of identifiers and keywords are good places to start. See the changes and new features summary for what's new with this release.
Enjoy!
