The Persistence of Vision Raytracer

Introduction

Welcome to the POV-Ray for PLATFORM version 3.7 documentation.

This documentation features a new color scheme, and a fixed navigational menu to the left of the content. If the number of fixed menu entries exceeds it's boundaries, a scroll bar is automatically added. The content and menu panes scroll independent of each other, simply hover over either pane to shift focus.

Hint: This content is best viewed using a screen resolution of at least 1024 x 576 pixels.

You could probably get by with something slightly less, however the fixed menu can intrude into the content. For that reason, it's background is transparent.

If the default font size doesn't suit, most browsers support a zoom feature. Internet Explorer users should select View -> Text from the browser menu and choose a suitable setting, while Firefox users should select View -> Zoom and make sure the Zoom Text Only option is checked first for the best results.

Previous versions of this documentation included section numbering in the table of contents, however, they ONLY appear in the content now. To aid in this transition, notice that when hovering over a fixed panel entry, the section numbers appear as a hint. The links at the top of the content pane also provide hints!

New to POV-Ray? You'd most likely want to begin with the tutorial section. Need to locate something quickly? Either the quick reference or the list of identifiers and keywords are good places to start. See the changes and new features summary for what's new with this release.

Enjoy!
