The term "color model" should be used here instead of "color space". "Color space" implies a device-independent system like the Munsell system that produces identical results regardless of device or output. "Color model" is more limited in that it means a different numerical/mathematical representation of a color space. Just for the heck of it I did a quick search of the two terms in an identical question ''model'' returned 72,400 hits, while ''space'' returned 169,00 hits ... not exactly scientific. A quick look at the lead articles from both searches showed that they discuss virtually the same topics.
