I had my first look at dead links could we replace them by internet Archives like this one: maybe specifying it

http://web.archive.org/web/20080610121611/http://www.geocities.com/ccolefax/spline/index.html

(I hope I didn't mess anything on my first wiki contribution!)

  • nope perhaps a shorter description in the edit summary box. change merged back into original doc --jholsenback 20:13, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Internet Archive link to Bender include file: http://web.archive.org/web/20080702213854/http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/1434/bend.html

  • This is more like what I had in mind, prefer internet archive as a last resort. I changed links for bend and spline macro over in the KB version. BTW: the KB version of Q&T isn't locked down like the documentation, so you guys should be able to edit those directly. Hint: use the Show preview button at the bottom of the editor pane before you commit the change (I catch myself making typo's all the time) also the History link at top and bottom of the page can help roll-back if you make a mistake --jholsenback 10:42, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

The Tutorial section 4 seems to be on this server in two places, here, and at Knowledgebase:Language Questions and Tips.

Only this one is being updated? Will the other one be deleted eventually? StephenS

  • yes it's in two places ... one is the copy that gets distributed with application (TutSec4) and the other is the online version that USED to be on the main POV site. Let's call the KB version the one we should edit. I'm going to leave the other content in place for now with an obvious redirect to the KB version. My bad ... --jholsenback 06:53, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
  • made the changes mentioned in my last post as well as links in others section of the docs that pointed to Q&T
BTW: What links here (at the very bottom of each page) was helpful in locating those other links --jholsenback 10:00, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
