Stanford is well-known as a leader in the field of computer graphics. There is a wealth of material here including links to research projects, courses in graphics, technical publications, slides from talks, software packages, data archives, cool demos, and workshops on topics in graphics.

Graphics-related research at Caltech primarily focuses on the mathematical foundations of computer graphics. Caltech's research explores and develops new approaches to modeling, rendering, simulation and scientific visualization, and is highly connected to our work on human/computer interaction.

Cornell is renown for its pioneering work in computer graphics, and it's still a world leader in the field. Modern research areas include Architectural Modeling, Realistic Image Synthesis, and Digital Photography.

Various articles about geometry, raytracing (especially POV-Ray), modeling, etc, written by Paul Bourke at Swinburne University. Illustrated with many images, mostly created in POV.

The RCSB PDB provides a variety of tools and resources for studying the structures of biological macromolecules and their relationships to sequence, function, and disease. The RCSB PDB FTP site provides coordinate data in PDB, mmCIF, and PDBML/XML formats. Over 36,000 structures available.

A paper from SIGGRAPH '98 covering many aspects of botanical modeling. Authors include Oliver Deussen (The University of Magdeburg) and Patrick Hanrahan (Stanford University). Paper available in PDF format.
